Overview

Yeti, a software company specializing in snow removal and lawn care business solutions, needed a cohesive exhibition booth design for an upcoming industry event. The goal was to create a visually strong and memorable presence that communicated the brand’s identity clearly from multiple viewing angles while maintaining production feasibility.

To bring the booth to life, I developed a 3D model to visualize the layout early, refine proportions, and validate how the graphics would wrap around all surfaces. The final design was fully prepared for print, ensuring accuracy across various large-format assets.

My Responsibilities

As the sole graphic designer on this project, I was responsible for:

  • Designing all visual elements of the exhibition booth, including backdrop and podium graphics

  • Modeling the booth in 3D to test sightlines, angles, and brand visibility

  • Ensuring consistency with Yeti’s brand identity and marketing goals

  • Preparing all artwork as production-ready print files (CMYK, bleeds, scale, safe areas)

Design Challenges & Considerations

1. Ensuring Visibility From All Angles

Exhibition floors are visually chaotic, and booths must stand out from multiple directions.

Challenge: The Yeti brandmark needed to remain clear whether visitors approached from the front, sides, or from farther across the hall.

Solution:

  • I used the 3D model to test every key sightline.

  • The booth backdrop was designed with a strong central mark and consistent spacing.

  • Podium designs alternated between the logo and the company website url on each side to maximize visibility no matter the approach.

2. Designing for Large-Format Printing

Large surfaces (such as backdrops and podium wraps) introduce scaling issues and require strict production accuracy.

Challenge: Maintaining crispness, avoiding pixelation, and ensuring the final colors matched the brand palette under different lighting conditions.

Solution:

  • Built all artwork in vector format with proper bleeds and safe zones.

  • Delivered print-ready files using correct color profiles (CMYK) and resolution.

  • Cross-checked each asset in the 3D preview to verify alignment, wrap-around, and proportions.

3. Bridging Concept and Real-World Constraints

The client provided both digital requirements and a reference photo from the booth model.

Challenge: Integrating new updates (such as focus on both snow removal and lawn care) while respecting physical booth limitations.

Solution:

  • Used the 3D mockups to translate conceptual ideas into realistic layouts.

  • Adjusted placement of content to ensure nothing critical landed on folds, seams, or edges.

  • Balanced visual impact with practical clarity and readability.

Outcome

The final booth design delivered:

  • A cohesive, professional booth that elevated Yeti’s presence at the exhibition

  • Consistent branding visible from front and side angles

  • Clean, high-contrast graphics optimized for event hall lighting

  • Accurate, print-ready files that required no further revisions from the production team

  • A strong representation of both core business sectors: snow removal and lawn care

The client approved all assets for print, and the design translated smoothly from 3D mockup to real-world execution.
